Overview

Guomao Engineering Design Institute (GEDI) was founded in 1957 and officially registered with its current name in 1993. Its predecessor is the Design Institute of the Ministry of Food which was renamed the Grain Design Institute of the Ministry of Commerce, the Beijing Design Institute of the Ministry of Domestic Trade, and the Design Institute of the State Bureau of Grain Reserve successively because of China’s institutional reform. GEDI is a recognized hitech enterprise, a member organization of the National Engineering Laboratory for Grain Storage and Transportation, and the Governing Board of the Logistics Center Innovation Alliance, and a Secretary-General organization of the Logistics Branch of the Chinese Cereals and Oils Association. Thanks to the good governance and entrepreneurial drive of several generations, GEDI has grown into a reputable knowledge-intensive design institute engaged in trade & commissariat industry and construction industry with great technical strength, a wide range of expertise, and an ISO9001-certified quality management system.

Qualifications

GEDI has Grade-A certificates for engineering consulting, engineering design (for both trade & commissariat industry and construction industry), engineering supervision, and EPC contracting, as well as GC2 and GC3 design licenses for pressure piping.

Staff

GEDI has 230 employees including four experts receiving special allowance from the State Council, 13 professorlevel engineers, and 58 senior engineers. In addition, it has 79 practitioners certified by relevant national authorities including certified consulting engineers, certified Class-I architects, certified Class-I structural engineers, certified cost engineers, certified Class-I builders , certified utility engineers, certified electrical engineers, certified chemical engineers, certified supervising engineers, pressure piping design approving officers, etc.

Scope of Business

Engineering Consulting: offering advisory opinions on planning and evaluation, and preparing project proposal, feasibility study report, project application report, and funding application report for trade & commissariat industry and construction industry.
Engineering Design: undertaking the design of engineering projects, contracting EPC projects, and providing project management and related technical and management services for trade & commissariat industry and construction industry.
Engineering Supervision: offering project management and technical consulting services for housing construction and municipal utilities projects.

Achievements

GEDI designed the first flourmill using long system mill flow in China, led the development of China’s first set of equipment for the continuous refining of 50t/d vegetable oils, undertook the engineering design of mechanized granaries and the World Bank’s Distribution and Marketing Project in China , the MEC turnkey projects of over 40 flourmills and many grain depots, as well as the selection of grain storage type, the design of standard drawings and the engineering design of nearly 25% of the granaries in the three rounds of granary construction in China. It has won first, second and third prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award as well as the gold, silver and bronze medals of the National Excellent Project Design Awards on many occasions.

It has undertaken the engineering design of over 100 residential and public buildings. The design of the Conference Building for the NPC Standing Committee won Beijing’s Great Wall Cup Award.

   2022年5月19日，北京国贸东孚工程科技有限公司编制的《宁夏(中卫)“一带一路”粮食储加销基地总体规划》通过了专家评审。
   专家一致认为，《规划》符合国家“十四五”相关规划要求以及《宁夏回族自治区国民经济和社会发展第十四个五年规划和二O三五年远景目标纲要》等相关要求，站位高、定位准、方向明，对于保障我国粮食安全、落实国家“一带一路”倡议、促进粮食产业高质量发展具有重要意义。《规划》内容全面、结构合理、数据翔实，符合产业发展需要和总体规划编制要求。前瞻性和可操作性较强，对中卫打造“一带一路”粮食储加销基地具有指导意义。
